The tailored presentation has been created for primary care teams and uses information and knowledge from the Think Kidneys primary care guidance, bringing it all together in one place. The slides have been developed to facilitate use by trainers and learners with differing experiences and needs, and for use in varied educational settings.<\/p>\n<p>Primary care services have a vital role to play in trying to limit patient harm due to AKI by undertaking measures to reduce AKI risk in the community and to limit delays in AKI detection and intervention.\u00a0 Primary Care Services also have a key role to play in \u201cpost-AKI\u201d care, to detect subsequent chronic kidney disease and also to tailor onward therapies to incorporate other important co-morbidities, such as heart failure.<\/p>\n<p>The slideset supports uptake of the \u201cThink Kidneys AKI Primary Care Guidelines\u201d and signposts users to other relevant Think Kidneys primary care resources.\u00a0 The whole slide set or selected slides may be used by local AKI champions from within secondary or primary care at dedicated training events, for example, or by individual users to assist self-learning.\u00a0 By promoting common themes relevant to primary care services, this resource aims to encourage widespread consistent AKI care across community settings.<\/p>\n<p>The slideset can be seen on the website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thinkkidneys.nhs.uk\/aki\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/02\/Think-Kidneys-Primary-Care-AKI-Slides-FINAL.pdf\">here<\/a>, and the slides can be accessed and downloaded <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/ThinkKidneys\/think-kidneys-and-primary-care\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation has been created by Jonathan Murray, Consultant Nephrologist at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and member of the Think Kidneys Intervention Workstream.
