{"id":2991,"date":"2016-12-08T14:12:56","date_gmt":"2016-12-08T14:12:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thinkkidneys.nhs.uk\/ckd\/?p=2991"},"modified":"2017-05-08T10:28:04","modified_gmt":"2017-05-08T09:28:04","slug":"pam-prom-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thinkkidneys.nhs.uk\/ckd\/news\/pam-prom-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Cohort 1 PAM &#8211; PROM report now available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a really exciting time for the TP-CKD programme as we come to the end of phase 1 which has been about testing whether it is possible to routinely gather a patient\u2019s level of knowledge, skill and confidence ( Patient Activation Measure) and quality of life ( Patient Reported Outcome Measure) using data collection methods.<\/p>\n<p>The Patient Activation Measure (PAM) and Patient Report Outcome Measure (PROM) report from Cohort 1 of the Transforming Participation in Chronic Kidney Disease (TP-CKD) Programme is now available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkkidneys.nhs.uk\/ckd\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/05\/PAM-PROM-overall-report-FINAL-V2-May-2017-1.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This report presents data collected at the end of phase 1 from the 10 renal units participating in the TP-CKD programme (March 2016 &#8211; August 2016).<\/p>\n<p>These reports provide us with novel information on pre-dialysis and renal replacement therapy (RRT) patients with CKD in England. For the first time patient activation, symptoms and overall health can be evaluated and benchmarks established.<\/p>\n<p>Phase 2 within the programme will be about the spread and sustainability of embedding PAM\/PROM into everyday practice as well as exploring and testing interventions to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of staff and patients (activation). We will also see if improvements in patient activation are associated with improved overall health and decreased symptom burden.
