KQuIP has identified that an effective regional network structure is critical for the delivery of tangible improvements for patients. KQuIP is working to support and liaise with the existing structure of regional delivery networks to ensure an effective local delivery arm and intelligence network that can deliver the spread and sustainability of embedded quality improvement. KQuIP and the regions will be focusing on three priority areas for national quality improvement projects. Home Therapies<\/a>, Transplant First<\/a> and Vascular Access<\/a>. The regions that KQuIP is currently working with are:<\/p>\n

East Midlands<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The KQuIP\/UK Renal Registry East Midlands regional day was held on the 12 September 2017. The programme for the day focused on national and regional health data setting the context, national and local priority settings, Quality Improvement planning and next steps.<\/p>\n

West Midlands<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The West Midlands KQuIP and UK Renal Registry regional day was held on 23 March 2017. It was designed in partnership between KQuIP and clinicians in the West Midlands, led by Clara Day, Network lead. Their focus regionally was agreed to be improving access to home therapies<\/a>. This is steering the KQuIP programme of activity within the West Midlands region.<\/p>\n

North East<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The KQuIP\/UKRR Northeast regional day took place on 2 April 2019.  Colleagues from the region came together to develop a programme for the day with support from KQuIP. The region has chosen MAGIC<\/a> as its improvement project.<\/p>\n

North West<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The North West region began their KQuIP journey by hosting a Regional Day on 31 January 2018. The six units; Aintree, Manchester, Preston, Royal Liverpool, Salford and Wirral; are working collaboratively on the national QI projects Transplant First<\/a> and MAGIC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thames Valley<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The  Thames Valley region has chosen to implement Transplant First<\/a> as its improvement initiative.<\/p>\n

QI leads and their teams met on 9th March 2020 to discuss the data they have been collecting. They are using the Transplant First Measurement Tool and LifeQI to record data, and presented graphs and run charts. They also created process maps to look closely at the steps in the transplantation pathway. Issues were discussed and change ideas were suggested. South East<\/a><\/p>\n

The region has chosen Transplant First<\/a> as the improvement project.<\/p>\n

The KQuIP\/UKRR Southeast leadership event took place on 3rd December 2019.  Colleagues from the region came together to develop a shared purpose<\/a> with support from KQuIP.  The also looked at leadership styles and developing new rules – notes from this session are here<\/a><\/p>\n

South London<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

KQuIP is supporting the South London Clinical alliance to implement three projects  – Supportive Care, Vascular Access and Transplantation, across four Trusts – Epsom and St Helier, Guys and St Thomas, Kings and St George’s in South London.<\/p>\n

South West<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The South West hosted their Regional KQuIp day on 4 October 2018. The six units; Truro, Plymouth, Exeter, Gloucester, Dorset and Bristol are working collaboratively on the national QI project Transplant First<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yorkshire and Humber<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Yorkshire and Humber region began their KQuIP journey by hosting a Regional Day on 6 July 2017. The four units; Bradford, Doncaster, Leeds and York; are working collaboratively on the national QI project MAGIC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

National Paediatric KQuIP network<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

KQuIP is supporting 13 paediatric renal centres in the UK to improve the care of children with kidney disease through the development of a national quality improvement (QI) network.<\/p>\n

The first national paediatric KQuIP QI day was held on 9 November 2018. It was designed in partnership between KQuIP and the British Association of Paediatric Nephrologists, and led by Daljit Hothi, the paediatric KQuIP clinical lead.<\/p>\n
