KQuIP South East – Regional Half Day at UKKW

03/06/2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

The UK Renal Registry Kidney Quality Improvement Partnership (KQuIP) South East regional half day will be held on Monday 3rd June 2019, at The Hilton Brighton Metropole

A draft agenda is available here, and has been put together by representatives from across the South renal community.

You are welcome to invite  as many colleagues and patients as you can from your renal unit – we would like to encourage a truly multi-professional, inclusive event that is relevant to all those involved in kidney care in the South East region.

This event will bring the renal community from the region together to discuss regional and local data in order to agree on one of three national Quality Improvement (QI) projects that are being supported by KQuIP. This is an opportunity for the region to learn, collaborate and share their ideas for quality improvement.

Following the day, it is hoped that the region will work together on a collaborative QI programme, chosen by the region during the regional day, and then driven locally by QI leads with support from the renal registry quality improvement team and the national project leads.

By the end of the regional day, it is hoped our region would have:

  • Agreed on a national QI project
  • Identify QI leads for each of the units (ideally both clinical and multi-professional)
  • Begun collaboration across the region to share practices, learning and experience

A bit about KQuIP…

KQuIP is a regional quality improvement programme working under Think Kidneys and the UK Renal Registry.

KQuIP aims to improve the lives of adults and children affected by kidney disease by building on rather than replacing existing quality improvement structures. The programme will do this by:

  • helping kidney services to embed quality improvement into daily practice
  • understanding and reducing unwarranted variation in care
  • spreading and sharing good practice

KQuIP are delivering on three national QI projects; Home therapies, transplant first and MAGIC (managing access generating improvements in cannulation).

We hope that you are keen to be involved in this exciting new initiative, and that the event will build the capacity for collaboration and innovation in the South East region, ultimately embedding quality improvement into our daily practice.
